This card was made by Lynn Lane in the ’90s and has always been one of my favorite scenic cards. All stamps are by Stamps Galore: 0005-K, Scootin’ Bear; 0234-Q, Tree Trunk; 0531-F, Lg. Rock; 0540-F, Two Trees with Birds; 0544-K, Tall Grove; 0545-D, Rocks & Ground; 0707-G, Tall Grass, Lg.; 0526-E, Long Branch; and 0707-G, Tall Grass, Lg.. She used colored pencils to color the card.
I’m happy to announce that my grandson, Jesse, and two of his children, made a trip to California in September and brought my vulcanizer back. The next step will be to purchase raw rubber and restock Stamp Galore’s inventory. I’m concentrating on the line of Brownies with the goal of every one of the 170 designs being available as mounted, cling, or just rubber. When all stock is 100% available, I’ll make an announcement in NEWS on this site. The card that I’m displaying in this Sept./Oct. newsletter uses nine different Brownie stamps. They are 0540-F, Two Trees with Birds; 0544-D. Medium Tree; 0819-F, Hold That Rope!; 0814-A, Ready, Aim, Fire, Smoke; 05450-D, Rocks & Ground; 0524-E, Shrubs/Clouds; 0811-H, Fun with a Burro; 0174-C, Weed Patch; and 0544-K, Tall Brownie Grove. Stamps drawn by my mother, Marge Busby, and used in this card are 0705-F, Rocky Ground, and 0715, Rocks & Grass.
Stamps used are “Scootin’ Bear. Lg.”, “Tree Trunk”, “Scenic – Large Brownie Rock”, “Scenic – Two Trees with Birds”, “Scenic – Tall Brownie Grove”, “Rocks & Grass”, “Tall Grass, Lg.” and “Scenic – Long Branch.” Images are stamped with black Memories ink and colored with pencil. Card by Lynn Lane.
“Pine Forest” was stamped twice leaving a little space between to give the illusion of a path. “Moose Silhouette” was stamped in Memories black in the lower part of the card. “Tree Trunk” was stamped in black Memories, colored, cut out and placed on the card with foam dots. All coloring was done with chalks and sprayed with a fixative. Card by Margaret Wiggin.
Stamps used are “Bear on Ledge, Lg.”, “Bush #1” and “Pine Silhouette.” Coloring is with markers. Clouds are sponged using a “moving” stencil. It is layered on dark brown and white card stock. Card by Margaret Wiggin.
“Frame #17, Southwest, Bold, Sm.” is embossed in gold on olive green card stock and the inside is cut out. This is layered as shown using cranberry, gold and tan card stock. “Doe by Branches” and “Distant Birds” are stamped with a black Memories pad on white card stock and colored with chalk and pencils. “Pine Forest”, “Two Ducks”, “Canoeing”, “Trout, Sm.”, “Bird Dog”, “Leafy Plant” and “Scenic – Shrubs/Clouds” are stamped in black Memories and colored with chalk, pencils and markers. Card by Jean Rhodes.
“Cat in Scenic Window” was embossed in detail black on white card stock and colored with “Rub-Ons.” A second image of the cat was stamped on black velvet paper with white Brilliance ink, cut out and mounted on the frame. The frame was highlighted with gold “Rub-Ons.” Crystal Lacquer was applied to the Aloe Vera plant as well as the birds, fence and grass. Card by Patty Tamler.
“Bear on Ledge, Lg.” and “Mountain Scene” were embossed in black on watercolor paper and colored with watercolors. The mountain scene is layered on brown, black and grey card stock. The bear and ledge are cut out and mounted over the picture with foam dots as well as over the brown layer. Card by Anaka Kagen.
