Mimbreno Parrots Accented with Colorful Yarn

“Mimbreno Parrot #1” and “Mimbreno Parrot #2” were embossed in black, cut out and mounted on a background made by moistening a Melitta Coffee Filter and painting randomly with Shimmering Pearl (magenta & blue) paint. When dry, the filter was cut apart making two pieces. One piece was trimmed with decorative scissors and 3 turquoise snaps inserted. The background piece was glued to a turquoise card layered with black card stock and a multicolored eyelash yarn was tied around the card at the fold. Card by Judy Conklin.

Moose in Birch Forest

On white glossy card stock, “Birch Grove” is stamped with Memories chestnut.  “Moose Silhouette” is stamped twice with VIP Sepia. The trees and grass are shaded with LePlume markers. This is cut out and set aside.  “Happy Birthday!” is stamped with dark brown ink on tan card stock and set aside. From the background card stock forward, the card is layered in the following order: Tan parchment, patterned checkered background paper, a rectangle of white card stock with four snaps adhered to the corners, dark brown mottled paper, and cut-out of trees and moose silhouettes. The “Happy Birthday!” rectangle is mounted on foam tape. Card by Thalia Sledge.
