To create the background, “Fireworks” was stamped on white card stock using a Calypso Kaleidacolor stamp pad. “Happy 4th of July!” was stamped on yellow card stock using the same stamp pad. “Eagle’s Head” was stamped on brown paper using a black Memories pad, cut out, the beak colored with pencils and glued to the card. The eye was colored with pencils and Diamond Glaze was added to make it stand out more. Large stars were drawn onto shrink plastic, colored, shrunk and glued to the card. “Furling Flag, Background” was stamped on white paper and colored with markers. Card by Davetta Alexander.
“Manfred with Electric Guitar, Lg.” was stamped in black Memories on green card stock, cut out and glued to “Musical Notes” which was stamped on off white card stock by inking with markers and trimming with deckle scissors. This was glued to “Musical Notes Background #2” which was stamped in black on off-white card stock and embellished with the “direct to paper technique” using purple and red pads, then trimmed with deckle scissors. These pieces were glued to “Starburst Background” which was embossed in red on off white card stock and layered on purple card stock. “Easel” and “You’re a Star!” were stamped on shrink plastic, colored with oil color pencils, shrunk, glued to each other and mounted on the right corner of the card. “Rose Fan, Lg.” was stamped once (necklace pendant) on white shrink plastic with Staz-on ink and colored with Walnut Hollow oil color pencils. “Rose Fan, Sm.” was stamped twice (earrings) on white shrink plastic. Holes were punched in the top and bottom of the fans so that beads and findings could be added. The shrink plastic was shrunk by being heated with a heat gun. “Log Alphabet, Lg.” is stamped randomly on tan card stock with a rust colored stamp pad to create the background paper. This is layered on black card stock. The words, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” are stamped with the same alphabet, colored with pencils, cut out as shown and glued to the background. “Cowboy Boot” is stamped on shrink plastic, colored, shrunk and attached to the background paper in the right hand corner.
