Boot on Cork with Feather Accent

“Cowboy Boot” is stamped with black Memories on a thin sheet of cork and colored with oil color pencils. Feathers are secured under the top and bottom of the cork piece when it is glued to a piece of tan suede leather which is glued to tan card stock. Card by Davetta Alexander.

Sailing with Border & 3-D Seashell Background

“Sailing with Border” is stamped on grey card stock with Brilliance Mediterranean Blue ink and colored with oil color pencils. It is trimmed with deckle scissors and layered over a deckle cut piece of metallic blue card stock. This is layered onto background card stock which was created by randomly stamping “Starfish #1” in Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue ink and “Sand Dollar” in Mediterranean Blue. This was layered on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ Dark blue Confetti card stock folded in half. As a last step, several other “Starfish” and “Sand Dollars” were stamped on grey card stock, cut out and mounted with cushion on the card randomly being placed where they would overlap borders. Sunset Picnic with Border & Rosemary Topiary

“Sunset Picnic with Border” is stamped on white card stock, colored with oil color pencils and cut out discarding the top and sides of the frame. This is layered over a red piece of paper cut about 1/4″ larger to form a border and is layered on brown parchment card stock and red card stock which has been edged with a Krylon silver Leafing pen. “Rosemary Topiary” is stamped twice on white card stock, colored with oil color pencils, cut out and foam mounted on both sides of the scene. Tag Art Using Sailing with Border

“Sailing with Border” is stamped on white card stock with black ink, colored with oil color pencils and cut into three tags. Holes were punched in the tags. A hole was punched in the dark green background paper and three strands of fibers were threaded through the hole and secured on the back side with Aileen’s Thick Designer Tacky Glue. “Starfish #1” was stamped in black, colored, cut out and mounted over 3 strands of fibers in the upper left corner. The tags are glued to hunter green card stock This was layered on white and rust card stock to form a frame. Card by Davetta Alexander.

Manfred Mantis with Electric Guitar, Lg.

“Manfred with Electric Guitar, Lg.” was stamped in black Memories on green card stock, cut out and glued to “Musical Notes” which was stamped on off white card stock by inking with markers and trimming with deckle scissors. This was glued to “Musical Notes Background #2” which was stamped in black on off-white card stock and embellished with the “direct to paper technique” using purple and red pads, then trimmed with deckle scissors. These pieces were glued to “Starburst Background” which was embossed in red on off white card stock and layered on purple card stock. “Easel” and “You’re a Star!” were stamped on shrink plastic, colored with oil color pencils, shrunk, glued to each other and mounted on the right corner of the card. Manfred Band on Stage

“Stage” was stamped with black Memories on white card stock, colored with oil color pencils and layered on black and white card stock. The following five images from the Manfred Mantis series were stamped in black on white card stock, cut out and mounted on the stage:  “Manfred with Electric Guitar, Sm.”; “Manfred on Bass, Sm.”; “Manfred with Guitar, Sm.”; “Manfred on Drums, Sm.”; “Manfred on Keyboard, Sm.” Card by Davetta Alexander.

Fan Necklace & Earrings

“Rose Fan, Lg.” was stamped once (necklace pendant) on white shrink plastic with Staz-on ink and colored with Walnut Hollow oil color pencils. “Rose Fan, Sm.” was stamped twice (earrings) on white shrink plastic. Holes were punched in the top and bottom of the fans so that beads and findings could be added. The shrink plastic was shrunk by being heated with a heat gun. Happy Birthday Loon Fishing

“Loon Fishing, Lg.” and “Happy Birthday” are stamped with a Memories black pad on white card stock which has been trimmed with deckle scissors. The loon is colored with oil color pencils, and the white piece is layered on mustard and ivory card stock. Although a loon is black and white with a red eye, it is fun to take an “artist’s liberty” and color images in many different colors. Card by Margaret Wiggin.

Loon Fishing #2

“Loon Fishing, Lg.” is stamped on white paper and colored with oil color pencils. Crystal Lacquer was applied to a portion of the loon that is under water. Four eyelets were applied which hold the three background papers in place. Although a loon is black and white with a red eye, it is fun to take an “artist’s liberty” and color this image in many different colors. Card by Margaret Wiggin.
